2nd Level Pho Place at Times Square Mall

Restaurant Name Unknown (2nd floor in Times Square Mall)
I keep forgetting the name of this place!

Grilled oysters
I love that garlic sauce they use. The oysters themselves were a bit chewy this time, but normally they do a better job.

Red lamb curry pho.
So filling. It wasn't really spicy to me. The meat slices were the kind you can get from the grocery store to do hot pot with. I didn't have any complaints.

Would I return? Yes. I need to go and find out what that place is called!

Total damage for 2 people: $25.50.

Star King

Star King Viet Thai Cuisine (7050 Warden Avenue, Markham, Ontario)
905-415-0008

It's a bit confusing walking into Star King. The location used to be a Kelsey's, and all the decorations, tables, booths, and the bar has remained; however, they serve pho, and there are teacups and chopsticks on the tables.

Beef brisket curry with rice.
I thought the meat was quite soft. The brisket tore apart easily in strands. Mel, who ordered the same thing as me, enjoyed the meat. She actually got hers with bread instead of rice, which she also enjoyed. The actual curry was a bit on the bland side to me.

Mel's black sesame ice cream.
The picture in menu was very enticing to many people at our table. The intense black colour made it look like it'd have intense black sesame flavour. Mel said that it was very good.

Would I return? Sure, it's affordable enough, and it seems a bit cleaner than most pho joints.

Total damage for my curry and rice: $9.

So Great Thai

So Great Thai (5195 Yonge Street, North York, Ontario)
416-512-9111

The hot and sour soup came with the lunch special.
I didn't get much hot out of it, but it tasted nice. It was sour, but not in a way that would contort my face.

I believe I got red beef curry.

The lunch special also comes with a spring roll. I can't remember much from this meal, but the curry had a nice smoothness to it. It wasn't very spicy. Esther mentioned that the other Thai place on Yonge Street had better curry.

Total damage: Uh... I can't remember, but definitely less than $15.
